Jeffrey Silberschlag, trumpet/conductor
Jeffrey Silberschlag has appeared as trumpet soloist and conductor throughout Europe, the United States, and Israel. His performances have been described as "compelling" by Germany's Kolnische Rundschau, "extraordinary" by Italy's L'Arena, and "outstanding" by Fanfare magazine. He was co-winner of the 1991 Norton T. Dodge Prize for Creative and Scholarly Achievement. Mr. Silberschlag has performed with many of the world's leading musicians, including Sir George Solti, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Bernard Haitink, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Temirkanoff, Luciano Berio, and Hans Werner Henze. Composers Morton Gould, William Thomas McKinley, Robert Hall Lewis, and David Froom have all written compositions especially for him. Mr. Silberschlag has held the
position of principal trumpet with the Italian Radio/Television Symphony Orchestra, the New York City Opera National Company, and the Jerusalem Symphony. |
