Gregory Nisnevich, guitar began his studies in St. Petersburg, Russia. He continued his education at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music where, after finishing the program, he became a faculty member. Later he became the first guitarist to receive an Artist Diploma from the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver where he studied with Maestro Ricardo Iznaola. Gregory Nisnevich maintains an active touring schedule both as a soloist and chamber musician. He performs regularly with the Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra and Golden Strings Quartet in Israel and Europe, and the Mercury Ensemble in the United States. He has appeared in such festivals as the Union Square Music Festival in New York, South Martin Imfeld Music Podium in Switzerland, Massenkoff Folk Festival in the United States, Bohemia Music Festival in the Czech Republic, and Jerusalem Music Festival in Israel. He participated in the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago and the Early Music Fall Festival in Boulder, Colorado.

A winner of the 1998 International Classical Guitar Competition in Portland, Oregon Mr. Nisnevich also won the first prize in the International Israeli Radio Competition in 1995 and the first prize in the Contemporary Music Competition in Israel in 1992.

Mr. Nisnevich’s unique artistic abilities and his highly successful performing career earned him the honor of the first performances of works by Israeli composers Jan Freidlin, Daniel Akiva and Emanuel Val as well as a Russian composer and guitarist Sergey Ilyin.
